Sunday Fun Day: At-Home Gel Manicure

These are the tools I used. I over buffed my nails a few weeks ago, so I've been using Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Hardener. I used one layer of that before I followed the instructions for the At-Home Gel Manicure.

I have done this a few times now. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I've yet to get it to last a full two weeks before they start to chip. Most of the time, the whole color will just peel off. I think I'm not sealing it properly.

I painted my nails on Thursday. I think this was the first time I noticed the gel layer between the color layers, so I thought that might make a difference. It didn't. So I'm going to work on sealing them better next time. Friday afternoon, the color on my right hand middle fingernail completely peeled off and Saturday morning, the index finger next to it did the same. I was on my way to a pedicure, so I added another $10 and got my nails completely redone. Lately, I've been likely the look of one layer of glitter on top. Just a little shimmer, not too much.

This is an improvement over regular color, which, for me, chips the same day I put it on. When I run out of this gel, I will switch to one of the other "at-home" gel manicures to see if it works better.
