I started using this container months ago. I knew eventually I would cover it with something to make it non-Christmasy. I actually keep this container in another plastic bin with her treats, so no one sees it anyway.
I saw the duct tape idea and I wanted to try to make her a pet food mat. I found the duct tape at Five Below. Then I remembered her habit of playing in her water and decided that the dish drying mat I use is probably better than something that's not absorbent. I knew I could use the duct tape for something else.
Ta da! It isn't perfect. There are some bunched up places and the stripes don't always line up PERFECTLY, but it's close and it's good enough and no longer Christmas!
She was really confused, because she knows her food is in there and she wanted it!
