How I Organize: My Shoes

I have 2 small closets in my bedroom and another small one in my office. I also have a lot of clothes and a lot of shoes...

One day, I found those shoe shelves/organizers on clearance at Meijer, so I bought one for each closet.

I have all of my heels on one side, stacked like this to maximize space. I also use the shelves for my jeans. I used to hang them, but need the hanging space for things that actually need to hang. I just bought that pair of black, so I'm either going to have to figure something out for it or get rid of a pair. 

And most of my athletic shoes. If you store your shoes like this, you get an extra inch or so of space, which adds up when you have a lot of shoes.

On the floor of the closet with the heels, I have all of my boots and ballet flats. The cat never gets to go in the closet, because I keep the doors shut, so she has to immediately investigate every time I open it. She's gotten trapped in this one a couple times because I didn't see her go in.

I have flip flops. Lots of flip flops. But they're a mess, because it's summer and they're getting worn. I did find something on Pinterest about organizing flip flops, and I'm just looking for cheap ones (most of the ones I'm finding are $10 each... I'd need at least 5 of them).
